I personally feel like I don't need to upgrade from my Roku 4k stick to the new one quite yet. Although, the convenience of just plugging the stick directly into your TV instead of a wall outlet is a plus. Good info as always, Michael! 😎
I believe the CNET reviewer might not have good Wifi. The CNET reviewer might also be a distance from the WiFi router. I still have a Roku Ultra LT I bought from Walmart years ago for $30 on a black Friday. I recommended a Roku Streaming Stick HD to a friend & they like it. Their living room TV is in the same room as their WiFi router.
Apple TV is SO much faster than any of these devices

Can you please say what is a better choice, getting a new Smart TV that has all the apps built in, including the Roku channel? app.. Or is it better to get the Roku device (like Ultra) and use it with our current 50 inch HDTV..?

Hi, thanks again for your helpful info and tips. I wanted to ask a question if you don't mind, about the Roku device, the Roku Ultra. Since currently our main TV is not a Smart TV, will we be able to connect our internet (cable from the modem gateway) directly into the Roku Ultra device..? Or does the internet have to be connected via Wi-Fi..? Thanks
