How to Reset Samsung TV Remote | Solar / New Remote

Is your Samsung TV remote not responding? Don’t worry—I’ll walk you through how to reset your Samsung TV remote, whether it’s a solar-powered model, a newer version, or even an older one. In this step-by-step guide, I’ll show you how to perform a soft reset, hard reset, and even how to unpair and re-pair your remote with your TV.

🔹 Soft Reset: If your remote is acting up, a quick soft reset might be all you need. Simply press and hold the ‘Return’ and ‘Play/Pause’ buttons until you see a flashing red light. This signals that your remote is resetting and should be back in sync with your TV in no time.

🔹 Unpair & Re-Pair: Need to disconnect your remote? Hold down the ‘Return’ and ‘Play/Pause’ buttons until you see a confirmation on your TV screen. To re-pair, just press any button, and your TV will detect the remote automatically!

🔹 Hard Reset (Factory Reset): If a soft reset doesn’t fix the issue, try a hard reset by holding ‘Return’ and ‘Multi-View’ together. Keep an eye on your TV and remote for confirmation that the reset is complete.

🔹 For Older Samsung Remotes: If your remote doesn’t have Bluetooth, simply remove the batteries, hold the power button for a few seconds to drain any residual charge, and then reinsert the batteries. This refreshes the remote and often fixes common issues.

  1. I’m having the same issue with the remote not interacting for volume change. Did both reset and pairing. Will try the free app Samsung remote and control it with my phone.

  2. I did both soft & hard resets & neither helped me fix the volume/mute button issue! All other buttons work just not the volume/mute button! I also took out the batteries & hit the on/off button & replaced the batteries, NOTHING fixed the volume/mute button!
