Nvidia Shield wins hands down. I'll never buy another FireTV ever. I stay away from any device that doesn't allow side loading. Thus, I will only use device with the Android operating system.
I find that an inexpensive alternative to the Nvidia Shield is the Onn TV boxes.
Also, with devices that run the Android system you can side load an app like ATV Launcher that will allow you to completely customize the layout, organize apps into categories and eliminate the intrusive ads.
Now for the joke:
Remember, no one is perfect. Everyone's butt has a crack in it. 😂
I’ve got a Roku, which I use for regular streaming, and it is fantastic; an Apple TV, which I use for Apple stuff, and a Chinese android box, which I hate. I’d really like to replace it, but I don’t know what to buy. Not a Firestick, because of the changes Amazon will be making, so…what?
Hey buddy do you know why cinema HD won't install on my fire stick, says app not installed
Someone's lost weight
One point in firestick's favour is the fact that iplayer and channel 4 are available in the appstore and the TV guide is pretty handy – google tv boxes missed out there.
I have some cubes, sticks and shields. I like the shield the best but the sticks and cubes work very good. I prefer the android operating system.
Apple TV
Well, I know a lot of people that really like Roku, and others prefer Google TV. It's really a matter of user preference and will vary greatly! I myself use the Fire Cube 3rd gen – and the reason why is that it completely integrates with my smart-home devices across SEVERAL different vendors and can control/view ALL of them on the Amazon platform (Echo Hub)! SmartThings, Wyze, Switchbot, Nest, Broadlink & TONS of others AND can can control them via Routines or simply by voice commands and for "my" needs beats all these other platforms. But not everyone has this setup and prefers the ease-of-use of the other platforms. I do like Google TV's layout and content suggestions as I've used a Dynalink (Google TV) setup for a bit but does NOT offer the full integration of my smart-home devices OR total voice commnds where Google and rest fall WAY short here for my needs.
Again, it's all a use-case thing and others need not smart-home integration or Alexa voice commands but, this works really well and shit just works which is all that matters to me! For others, not so much! NOT saying Amazon is the best/greatest at all but, works really good for my use-case!
GREAT video and ALWAYS love your opening jokes of each post you do!😂 Stay safe and DO what suits you best, whatever platform that may be!! I think these are ALL good offerings, depending on "your" actual needs!☺
