Apple tv is quit impressive
Ur doing a test between a $150 a t and a roku express. Not fair .
My ultra is much faster
Apple TV is lightning fast, but the Roku offers the better overall experience with regards to user experience. I enjoy using them both.
I has Apple tv for years. It’s ok. I had many issues with freezing. The remote is not good at all. I then tried Roku on another tv and imo it smoked the Apple tv. Super fast, remote is great
I’ve compared the two, and what I found was that the Apple TV had a far better picture than the Roku. That, the UI, performance and NO ADS ON THE HOME SCREEN, just makes the Apple TV far better IMHO. Roku may be more popular (primarily because it’s cheaper), but it’s not in the same league as the Apple TV. The fact that Roku’s remote is plastic and the Apple TV’s remote is aluminum is just one demonstration of this. Some may like the Roku menu, but the Apple TV shows it’s not necessary.
Unlike when someone said on this forum, I have NEVER had a problem with Apple TV freezing on me. It has always worked smoothly, and as he said, the apps open quickly. And as I said earlier, the picture quality is far superior to the Roku.
I realize that Roku fans and Apple haters are going to jump on me and claim that this is tantamount to blasphemy. Let them. I know what my eyes have seen. And there’s absolutely nothing that anyone can say that will change or take away my experience. So there!!!
On Roku, I use the Roku Media app quite a bit to watch content on an external hard drive on my laptop. I don't know if Apple has that.
Apple TV hands down
I have ALL Rokus. There are probably 10 rokus in my house between me and my Brother. Apple TV is excruciatingly WAYYYY better than a Roku in almost every way possible…especially How fast things open and has APPS and GAMES of much Higher end. Roku only has going for it alot of Free Stuff..but Apple TV has Cuaght up. Roku thought they can get by with these low end devices for long…thats changing. Now here is the Thing..I do NOT want to use Apple or Amazon devices…so I am stuck with Roku even though I have an Apple TV 4K. Basically Roku needs to MEGA ULTRA revamp their device and yes I said Device as in Sinlge… the fragmentation is ruining their image or they better add the same bells and whistles to ALL Roku versions like Voice Remote. They need High end Games and minium of 64gb Storage RAM and 8gb Memory.
I do enjoy my roku ultra but if they add anymore ads I’ll take a look at the Apple TV. It looked really good in your video and it’s only $30 more for it. That’s not bad.
