If only Apple would allow us to load the Steam app so we can play all our games on our big screen TV’s. But then they’d have to add a USB port to plug in your controller or incorporate Bluetooth capability for Bluetooth devices. Sadly I don’t ever see that happening because then Apple would lose that control over what games you could (or could not) play using their platform. Oh well, I guess I’ll just keep plugging my laptop into an HDMI port and play my Steam games that way.

Frankly they should keep the price high & not lower it & then subsidise it with intrusive advertising. There can be a lite version & a pro version.
I’m gonna put out my own rumors based on my own “research” and say that there’s not going to be a price decrease. There’s not going to be a built in camera. There not going to be a home hub. There’s likely going to be two models again and the higher end one will offer the “pro” chipset and more memorystorage and a physical network port. Both versions will support thread. And that’s it. Apple doesn’t do major changes for the ATV because it’s a consumer electronics product that has to play well with other consumer electronics products.
I currently have a Roku Ultra from about 4yrs ago and I am starting to look for a replacement, so if the Apple Tv is competitive I will seriously consider it.
I just dropped cable and am getting started with streaming TV. Since I’m already in the Apple ecosystem, I’ll buy the current version of Apple TV for the upstairs TV, learn to use it, and then possibly get the new version (if there is one) for the main TV downstairs, which is already a smart TV.
The subscription services are too expensive for me to even bother getting the new Apple TV.
Everything about apple is just EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!
If they add a web browser or allow you to side load one then I would get one but until then I'm not buying one.
