This is $50 to $60 at best.
No side loading? There are other ways than using a USB thumb drive to send a file to this device. You don't know what you are talking about.
I purchased a month ago as I noticed my Nvidia Shield starting to slow down in regards to ethernet connection.
I'm very happy with my Google Streamer. It's powerful and fast. Clear picture. And I got it for $84.
All that other crap like USB doesn't apply to most individuals.
You're missing the point it's not just a streamer it also acts as a home hub. Seamless connection with Google products is the main seller here. Pixel Buds can be connected, all of your Google Home devices and can be controlled including on screen viewing of Nest cameras/doorbells, Nest Thermostat, lighting…
The colour & price is what's keeping sales low but not a fail the biggest competitor was the Chromecast with Google TV. Majority want A black device, NO one wants a white box under their TV.
You are honestly nitpicking here. All your complaints are the same as those on the Onn and Firestick 4K flaws. Streamers excel in their AI and home integration. Besides, streamers are widely available across the globe and are easier to purchase than Onn and other streaming devices like Nvidia. Still a great streaming device, just a biased review.
The ONLY thing where it failed is that is has no AUDIO-PASSTROUGH
I ran through my hometheater. Oppo blue ray player, which connected to Arcam receiver, which then connected to Sony TV. This new upgrade is amazing. Oppo and do the upscale the Netflix and YouTube streaming. Great job, google.
It’s the only device that is certified to run the newest google tv format along with Netflix and other apps. Shield is okay but extremely outdated. The Onn is already outdated
