  1. The Apple TV is ALMOST the king… but it lacks bitstream audio, so you can't get Dolby True HD or DTS-HD MA. And if you haven't heard the difference, it's huuuuuge. Trying it back-to-back vs. a Zidoo (which supports audio passthrough), the audio is far more dynamic, the bass deeper, the effects more specific, etc. with the Zidoo's support for high-res audio. Apple needs to fix this to be the best.

  3. Is the Apple TV 4 K worth having if you have no other Apple devices (other than a 2008 iPod!)? I'm due to replace my Android streaming box and could get the Apple TV 4K for free if I switch my Broadband to Vodafone…

  4. I have used the OG Apple TV, 2nd, and 3rd gen Apple TVs.

    My favorite was the OG for lossless audio. Playing lossless audio thru that device was unreal. The sound clarity would make any audiophile melt and want to come back for another melting 🫠 session.
    The 2nd and 3rd gen models had YouTube support and I enjoyed them for that. Ironically they didn't play ads on there. That's why I kept using them even though they couldn't do beyond 1080P. Once YouTube was dropped I got rid of them. Otherwise I would have kept them.

    Good video and I could see myself getting another Apple TV.

  5. I just want 120hz+ support on the next gen apple tv. I want smooth menu navigation even if I can't stream at that rate. The TV is 144hz, the HDMI 2.1 support can do 120hz+, so what's the excuse for the 3rd gen to be 60hz? If they don't improve at the end of 2025 I won't be buying.

  6. Hey buddy. I have an LG C5 from this year, but I don't like WEBOS, and I'm not a fan of Apple, I'm a fan of Android. My question is, is it currently worth buying me this Old Apple TV 4k? My use is Streaming platforms Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, etc. Is it worth it? Will I have excellent image quality? Or could I go for a Google streamer 4k? I'm interested in Dolby Vision image quality and fast browsing, opening apps, quickly navigating within Netflix.

  7. I wish that TV manufacturers would produce versions that are just HDMI monitors – no need for smart functions or audio. Most people will have them plugged into a sound system or bar, and the external smart devices like Apple TV or my PVR anyway.
