Free the taxpayers; cut all funding to PBS and NPR!
We had Verizon FIOS TV many years ago, then they sold it to Frontier. Now they want to buy it back. We switched to Frontier a year ago, go figure.
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting is NOT a government agency like the FTC, FDA, or FCC. It is a publicly funded non-profit corporation. It was created to be independent of political meddling. The President of the United States nominates its board members (who serve six year terms) and that's it. He has NO authority to fire board members or to order the CPB to stop funding NPR and PBS.
People that don't watch PBS shouldn't be paying for it.
Once PBS sold Sesame Street to HBO, not only was that a pure money grab, but I lost all respect for PBS. At that point PBS went from a Public Broadcast Company to a full blown Corporation. So no, they shouldn't receive any public funds.
The reason Pres. Trump is looking to have more oversight of NPR & PBS is because they're publicly funded, and have a duty to present more than one political perspective in their news coverage. They're not doing that, despite claims to that they are. If they wish to only present one viewpoint, then they should not expect to get public funding. Btw, they have been called out for their biased coverage, even by some of their own staff, whom they punished for that. They're not serving the public at large, but only those who agree w/ them. Pres. Trump wants to stop that.
Order your tote bags while you still can.
No more tax dollars for PBS or NPR…
"Politics worming its way in…". It is already there, more about getting it out.
My thought on PBS and the "president"… PBS can make all the rules they want about removing people, but the Orange Idiot will just force it anyway.
