When my TV remote stopped working, I could’ve just replaced the battery. Instead, I designed and built my own universal smart remote — complete with 3D printed buttons, a custom PCB, and full Home Assistant integration. Was it a massive overreaction? Absolutely. 1. Hey, I’ve noticed you use Home Assistant a lot and it looks really cool. I’ve been thinking of setting it up myself but honestly not sure where to start. Could you maybe share what hardware is needed and how to set it up? A beginner’s guide would be awesome!

  2. If there is anyway @thestockpot-AU can help me build a 3-button remote for my son who has autism, I’d be grateful. I don’t know that I have the skills needed to complete this, but I do think it would be a cool video of you could do that….. please message me if you see this and are willing to help.
