  1. WD 40 is a rust remover, abrasive and oily. It is not used for the repair and maintenance of electronic contact units.!! You will make your remote control even more unusable. Instead of WD 40, use an oil-free contact spray used for remotes that do not have buttons that work.

  2. Hello from Missouri, I'm going to try this on my remote. The front of the remote you cleaned during the video is black and the front of the remote at the end of the video that you used to turn on the TV is gray. Why is this?

  3. Like some others, I also use alcohol, which dries fast and completely, leaving no residue.
Also, I prefer microfiber cloth instead of cotton swabs, which can leave thin strings of cotton behind.
I have cleaned my computer keyboard this way, which had developed dead keys.

  4. DO NOT USE WD40 ON ANY ELECTRONICS AS IT WILL DAMAGED THE CIRCUIT TRACKS. Use a proper wet contact cleaner to clean the remote contacts. Highly recommend Caig Deoxit for such purpose.
