Today I’ll be setting up my own media server to stream my entire dvd and tv show collection on my Apple TV using the UGREEN DXP4800PLUS NAS and the Theatre app. It’s my personal streaming service with no ads, no subscription, and no monthly fees.

You said that the theatre app can handle subtitles. How are you ripping the discs for that option to be available? I think Blu-ray discs use PGS aunt, which aren’t supported by AppleTV. Does the theatre app provide that support, or are there extra steps?

Thank you, very much for showing an alternative way to do this without using "Plex". Guess that, I am an "old ball" because, I prefer to own my DVD's and then watch my films using a DVD player. The problem that, I have with streaming is on the very day, I watch to watch a movie or TV show is just when, I find out it has now been removed. This is true, for both free streaming services and for pay streaming services. (smile … smile)

Are your burning discs on Mac or windows? Finding a burner for Mac these days is tough
