I am in the process of getting rid of my Roku Devices, just replaced my favorite TCL Roku Series 5 TV and replaced it with a TCL Google QM6K TV and going to use an Apple TV after Roku decided to force a full screen ad in my face when using it now.
Between the two, I’ll go with Google Tv since it has fewer ads
Roku for me
Google tv is better because you can sideload your favorite apps…you cant do that on roku
I was all in on Roku. Had 3 ultra devices. Then I wanted to use some apps that I was not able to use with Roku. I moved to the fire stick but it has so many restrictions and so many ads! I have moved to the Onn 4k pro with Google TV. I can do anything I want with it.
The only thing I noticed between Roku and Google tv…For some reason Google TV doesn't detect that I have the DirecTV app and when it recommends a show/game/movie it shows me sling TV or YouTube tv to watch it from…Roku doesn't have this problem.
I tend to prefer Roku, but they both work fine once you learn how to use them.
Can I mix in local antenna channels with Google tv? I have a Roku, and and antenna, and the guide merges the local channels from the antenna into the guide. We love that.
I just wish Google TV let you Get rid of or Reorder the categories
