They just released an update in my region that bricks the older Google Chromecast 4k I was using, did the update automatically, restarted black screen, nothing to do about it, their support won't answer, Google is such a scam company nowadays.
I have both an Apple TV and a Google TV streamer. The streamer seriously needs either some more RAM or some more optimizations. Also, it could really use a task manager. Having to reboot or get into the settings to close apps is a terrible design decision.

as long as google don’t do anything weird to the google chromecast with google tv i won’t be buying one
How often do you neew to reboot it? My 1080p chromecast 3rd gen needs reboots atleast twice a week

I travel for a living. And if I'm going to stay in a hotel for 2 or 3 with a secure login for their Wi-Fi I need to be able to access a web browser like the one that comes on Google TV to be able to log in. unfortunately it doesn't look like the Google TV streamer is very portable. Fortunately I'm still using the old Google TV Chromecast dongle. I would like to upgrade. Or get a new one. Any suggestions… Keep in mind you have to be able to access a web browser to log into most hotels internet

It's not the best value, but besides a streamer for my kids monitor I needed matter hub so this was pretty much the only option for me (onn isn't available here)
