All we really want is Lossless TrueHD, DTS:X passthrough/playback
I'll start my story from the beginning. I had a fire stick – I gave up because of the excess ads, I had a chromecast – at some point I felt it was too slow, I went back to the newer generation of firestick 4k max and I felt it was the same as the previous one, i.e. you're flooded with ads. Then I bought a fire cube 3rd gen and… I returned it because this awful amazon system is stupid. I had an nvidia shield, it's an amazing device and I don't belittle it, but I started having strange problems with it hanging up, it would hang and only after unplugging the power would it come back to life… And here we have a winner! I bought an Apple TV 4K Wi-Fi + Ethernet with 128 GB and it's an amazing device, zero unnecessary ads, smooth in use, easy to understand system! This is my first Apple device and I recommend it to everyone if you want to buy something powerful for years!
Wish I could afford it but im not giving uo my grocery money for this
why would anyone care about a smaller tv box? it’s already smaller than most boxes you use for streaming if not the TV itself. Don’t get why they don’t want to take over the home theater market, it seems to be the only people genuinely interested in watching these videos

I’d like apple improve storage hardware in apple TV, basically( 10 times more) and at best price.
"A new Apple TV? Oh yay, another overpriced box that streams the same soulless sludge every other streaming box does — but with more bugs, more ads, and more stuff I’ll never actually own. How exciting. 🙄
I’m sorry, but Apple TV is just digital landfill. You scroll endlessly, maybe watch something half-decent, and then POOF — it’s gone next month. It’s like renting a couch made of smoke. Why pay monthly to maybe keep watching movies that I could just own on glorious Blu-ray, with special features, uncompressed video, and actual packaging I can hold?
Give me a good ol’ Blu-ray player any day of the week. Or heck, a combo unit with a DVD drive and CD playback. You know — REAL media. You pop in a disc, it plays instantly. No loading screens, no updates, no ‘this title is currently unavailable.’ Just pure, beautiful content in its best form. Music CDs sound better than anything Spotify can compress into my ears, and movies? Oh please. Streaming crushes the life out of films. Blu-rays are cinema. Apple TV is a soggy napkin in comparison.
Streaming is like fast food: convenient but cheap and forgettable. Physical media is the five-course home-cooked meal you remember forever. And unlike Apple TV, a Blu-ray player won’t stop working the second some corporation decides your device is ‘too old.’
So no thanks, Apple. Keep your sleek box of ads, lag, and '1080p-ish' garbage. I’ll be over here watching The Lord of the Rings extended editions on disc, listening to my favorite albums in full CD quality, and skipping trailers with a single button press. ✌
