Amazon has just dropped a major Firestick and Fire TV update with a one-click option to clear all app caches. On my Firestick, it even shows I can instantly free up 693.32 MB of storage. Sounds great… but is it actually worth using?
In this video, I’ll explain:
✅ How to check if your device has the latest Fire OS update
🔄 Where to find the new “Clear All Caches” option
📦 Why some people love it (more storage)
⚠️ Why others say it can slow your apps down
🔍 My recommended best practices for when you should and shouldn’t clear cache
I’ll also share a quick tip on checking your privacy settings after updates, and explain why your cache never truly hits 0 KB (hello 16.38 KB residual cache 👀).
👉 What about you — will you use this new feature regularly, or leave it alone unless an app is giving you trouble? Drop your thoughts in the comments!

I don't have that option even though I have the correct update on my 4K Maxx stick very weird and would love it
I did a "restore to factory default" as my remote just stopped working..(had to keep home pressed & restart cube every time). With the restore to factory defaults, I cant install apps like YouTube, HBO Max & Apple TV+. Amazon support says it will resolve the issue in 24 to 48 hours…let's see! My other fire tv cube (not reset) is working fine with all these apps working. Go figure!
Nice to see you after such a long break.
Loving the new look Tanya ❤
Did the latest update on my Firestick but update didn’t download properly now I don’t have the Home Screen have to reset the Firestick every time to get home screen, can you help with this ?
I'm in the habit when I've used an app I automatically force stop.
I tried this & to my surprise, it did NOT actually remove the cache. I checked every app & cache was the same before & after using this new feature.
I'm not understanding this video if Google is planning to block side loading third party apps very soon. Third party apps always build up a lot of cache. But if you use it for the standard apps that comes with the device. That will probably be ok.
Why haven't I got it on my fire stick
